The Drive and Welcome Home

The trip to Indy was quite uneventful.  Everybody did great in the car!  Spencer and I had walkie talkies so we were able to communicate quite easily on the drive while using our phones for gps (in Spencer's case as a movie player for the boys).  For a good portion of the day the boys rode with Spencer in the truck.  They loved it.  They had some prizes that I had picked up from the dollar store that were fun and, of course, they loved the movies.

Spencer in front on the edge and the sunrise.

We did have one mishap along the way:

At a rest stop just outside of St. Louis we stopped for lunch.  We had bread, peanut butter, and jelly.  The kids were excited to have a chance to run around and have some fun.  Benny was jumping from the half brick wall to the picnic table in his running around.  On one swing around he slipped and hit his head right on the table.  We were sure we would have to get to an ER to have stitches.  That is what the Doctor thought when first looking at it.
The amazing thing is that there were two "Rest Stop Attendants" at the next table over eating their lunch.  I have never been to a rest stop that had attendants before.  They came right over and got a couple of towels for us and some ice.  One of them was even able to find a couple of butterfly bandages in their first aid kit!  That was what saved us.
Poor Benny had a headache for a while, but he was a real trooper.

A quick ride with Dad.

Home, sweet home.
We really love it here.
