Thanksgiving

We have loved having our own Thanksgiving since we first moved to Tulsa.  I have really enjoyed figuring out some good food and the last couple of years Spencer and I have had a lot of fun trying to figure out healthier options for us!

This Thanksgiving I did the recipe in the Better Homes & Gardens cookbook but used 100% whole wheat flour instead of white and used coconut oil instead of butter.  It turned out really well.

I really need to read tips in cookbooks sooner.  I finally saw this tip for covering pie crusts so they don't burn.  Genius, I tell you.  I will remember this forever.  Hopefully.

We have seen much colder days than these, but it was pretty cold for being out playing football.

Dinner time!

We have loved feeding whatever pureed-food-eating child we have had at Thanksgiving real pumpkin. It started with Andy.  Jane didn't really like it on its own, but mixed with carrots she ate it right up.
