i can't believe it's already been a week that we've had lilia. she's been a great baby already! since we've been home, she's only woken up once in the middle of the night each night. i really hope that continues!

we haven't really had to adjust to having three kids yet. my mom has been in town since last thursday night. she'll leave late this afternoon and we'll have to start figuring things out on our own. it's been really nice having spencer and my mom around to help so much! the deep freezer we got between one and two months ago is absolutely full! i think we'll have some freezer meals to last us into school starting this august - i'm really grateful for that.

not that i'm thinking about having another yet, but it's been interesting to think about different birthing experiences and which i prefer. i've now had a c-section, a "natural" delivery with an epidural, and a completely natural delivery. one of my first responses after lilia was born (on the phone to my mom (who delivered 7 of 8 with no drugs) at about 1a) was, "i'm never doing that again." at the time, i really felt that way. however, my recovery this time has been so much better than either of the others that i wonder if it would be worth it to do it again. definitely way to soon to think about it, but i'm grateful that things have been going so well.

some pictures:

story time for everyone!

benny was very excited to help with lilia's first bath. he has been such a great helper.

with bubbe.
our first lili and lilia picture.
unfortunately it will be a while before we're able to get lilly ann and lilia.

in her first sunday dress.
i know it's silly, but i have been looking forward to corn syrup-ing a little bow to our little girl's head for a while. it worked great and even lasted over night!
i'm surprised at how many people at church didn't know the corn syrup trick. i thought that was an old one.

She is BEAUTIFUL! The corn syrup didn't work in Ally's hair...go figure I wasn't suppose to be the girlie type mom though I wanted to be! I'm happy (and jealous) to know you have dinners for MONTHS! Oh the thought! Keep us informed about your days with **3**! I'm nervous about 2! :)

Thanks for the corn syrup tip (I didn't know about that one)! And the bow looks darling. I am glad that you are recovering well and that you've had so much help over the past week! We hope she continues to sleep well at night so you can get back to feeling like your regular self.

She is so cute! I really like the one of her with your mom. I am so glad to see she has a pink bow in her hair! I am a little confused though... are you really saying that you took yourself and your week old baby to church?!? Ahhhhh! :-)

What a cutie! I prefer the c-section myself. The recovery time isn't so great, but the delivery itself runs so smoothly, and I feel like I spend more of my time enjoying baby than trying not to fall asleep :)

What a little sweetheart! Love her name. She sounds delightful! Congratulations to your family.

Oh yes the corn syrup trick...the best is licking your finger as you try to take the bow off and wipe away the remaining goo...yum! ;)

How fun... lucky you that she sleeps already! :) Yes, I remember people always asking how I got Sydney's bow to stick. My mom actually "taught" me to use Elmers White glue! I know, sounds so inhumane, but you just put a little water and the bow comes right off! :) Corn syrup is good too! Glad your mom was able to come. It's amazing how much they help!
