...according to my checker at wal-mart the other day, is her job. she said everyone should praise them for what they go through. i said i sometimes felt the same way about my job (about the praise, not about it being the worst job). i told her i have a two-and-a-half-year-old, a one-year-old, and one on the way. her response: "do you watch a lot of tv?"
is that really what people think about mothers who stay at home? maybe that's what i'd do if i wanted my children to end up working at wal-mart.

Ha!
That's super lame of her. It's sad we have to defend our choice sometimes. But we know we are awesome!
Snap Faith!
That was a great last line! I agree that moms do not get enough praise. The checker sounds like she doesn't know what she's talking about.
i love it when people say dumb stuff--they just look so dumb. haha.
Who has time to watch tv?. Staying at home is great when they're so young and at home with you. Think of the moments you would or will have missed. It is the best job in the world, most days. Besides we don't even have cable.
Ouch, no kidding. What a retarded comment. But, I DID use to wonder what moms did all day long -- and now that I'm there, I know we are always busy (especially the more kids you have, I'm sure!)
hahahaha. I think it is safe to assume she doesn't have any children, has never baby-sat or even been in the same room with a kid.
Great post. Your comment at the end made me totally laugh.
Yea, that's when I would say something like, "At least I am home with my children watching TV all day, instead of going to work and leaving them home alone. Where are your kids right now, by the way?!"
I'm so bad.
Thank you for reminding me why I do not miss Wal-Mart. Hope you're feeling great this pregnancy!
you are so right about this!!!
