This picture won't mean much to anyone else, but to me, it represents a fairly major feat.
Two Tuesdays ago our washing machine wasn't working. And, despite the trouble-shooting in the manual, I couldn't get it going again.
That night I found an "ask the expert" thread with a question just like the one I had. Unfortunately, even after going through all of that (taking off the back panel and dealing with the drain pump and "rubber boot" that is connected to it) it wasn't working. So, we paid to ask our own expert. The result: we needed a new drain pump.
The part was supposed to get here that Saturday, but it came Friday instead! I didn't time it, but with taking off the front panel this time, which meant the top came off first, it took considerably longer than it had Tuesday night, but it wasn't horrible. The best part is getting everything put back together and being able to turn it on with success! Really, I felt awesome. Still do whenever I think about it, actually!
I felt a lot like my dad during this process. I watched him do a lot of stuff like this while I was growing up. I am grateful for his example. It sure feels good to know that what you did fixed a problem!
