tulips are my favorite flower. one thing that makes them special is that spencer left one on my doorstep 1 may 2000 - may day. i actually still have those tulip petals in my journal... wow.
yesterday spencer suggested cafe rio (courtesy of adam and sara, thanks, again!) for dinner to celebrate may day. he came home and surprised me with these flowers.
needles to say, it was a very pleasant surprise!
may day has become a very nice tradition for us. spencer surprised me with flowers last year as well.
benny's news
benny, of course, has been doing wonderfully! he's growing like a weed. at his 9 mo. check-up he weighed in at 18 lbs. 4.5 oz. (2 lbs lower than he was at his sick appointment at about 8 mos. - the doctor, however, is not worried as his growth pattern is normal without the spike) and measured at 28 in. (10 inches taller than when he was born!). he's crawling like crazy and walking around while holding onto all the furniture. our friends chris, laura, and dallin clark got benny a little walker benny loves it. i think it's his favorite toy. another favorite toy is benny's costco card (the gift card we got for christmas from spencer's parents) - he absolutely loves carrying that around. he still only has 7 teeth, but i'm sure the 8th is going to come any time. we'll see.

Holy cow. That kid looks EXACTLY like his dad. I can't even believe it. Wow.
Loved the pictures of your flowers, and I thought that was sweet what you said about the flower on your doorstep and the petals in your journal. :)
Benny has 7! teeth? When did his first one come in? Neither of my boys have teeth yet. I keep waiting, but none have poked through yet.
